Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy (OT) is a client-centred form of therapy that helps individuals continue doing what is meaningful to them. For Pediatrics, this means the occupation of play, learning to do self-care activities, and participating optimally in life at home, school and in the community.

Jennifer is a wife and a mother of two children, and a pediatric Occupational Therapist who has been living in Waterloo Region for over two decades and who has been practicing for 18 years. Jennifer is a passionate advocate for her clients, knowing the resources available in our community and actively collaborating with other health professionals to meet her clients’ needs.

Jennifer uses play and a body and mind based approach with clients with sensory processing and sensory integration difficulties, fine and gross motor delays, vision and vestibular difficulties that impact movement written output, and is interested in sleep-disordered breathing, it’s impact on feeding and swallowing, and the relationship of sleep to the ability to function during the day. Jennifer works with people with ADHD, Autism, Down Syndrome, as well as those without diagnoses.

Jennifer has volunteered with the Region’s Breastfeeding Buddies, Le Leche League, taught baby-wearing workshops and volunteers frequently in her faith community. Jennifer enjoys singing, dancing, being a sound tech, and loves her dog.
